2025 Annual Impact Summary

A Year of Growth, Service & Resilience

Despite significant challenges in 2025,  including operating four months short‑staffed due to an employee injury, the Caney City Library continued to thrive. Our small but dedicated team maintained full services, expanded programming, and strengthened community partnerships.

• 22 Summer Reading programs
• 15,597 patrons served
• Average of 1,300 visitors per month

Community Engagement & Programs

The library delivered a wide range of programs for all ages, including:

• • School Tours for preschool, 1st grade, and 3rd grade
  • Holiday Events: Trick or Treat the Library at Halloween, Christmas Movies, Easter Egg Hunt
  • Senior Wednesdays: crafts, bingo, volunteer projects, Caney history
  • Chair Yoga Classes
  • Book Fair

• Spring & Fall Tea Fundraisers
• SEKLS Bus Tour Host Site
• Radio Spots at KGGF
• Story Time and rotating early‑learning activities.

• Free feminine hygiene products available in the women’s restroom

Stay & Play (Early Childhood Programs)

Monthly partnerships with local organizations bring social and educational programming to children 5 and under and their caregivers.

• Kansas Reads to Preschoolers participation
• Dr. Seuss Day reading at the grade school
• Downtown Book Walk with support from local businesses
